’ Music for Jan Atlink’ - Commisioned by the Groninger Museum
“While viewing the exhibition, visitors can listen to songs on a media player, that were composed especially for works of art from the Groningen Museum Collection.”
A few months ago I recieved an email from a very nice Dutch girl from The Groninger Museum (Groningen, NL), asking if I would like to take part in a special project, where I would compose and record a song inspired by a painting of my choice (from the Jan Atlink exhibition). I said yes immediatley.
Here is my contribution, all recorded on old cassettes, left by my former Swedish housemate.
The story goes; the couple in the foreground decided to leave the city in search of a life more real, fulfilling - and to try and become kinder, happier, better people.
The man on the right side of the horse is speaking to his tired & impatient friend, reminding him that “there’s just some things you can’t rush”.
